A common gender classification includes masculine and feminine categories. Masculine nouns are words for men, boys and male animals. Feminine nouns are words for women, girls and female animals.

7-UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
An abstract noun is the name of quality, state or action.
Ex- Quality : bravery, honesty, kindness
Action : theft, laughter, robbery
State : death, sickness, boyhood
Abstract nouns are formed in three ways
1) From adjectives
Ex: bravery from brave
2) From verb
Ex: service from serve
growth from grow
decision from decide
3) From common nouns
Ex: childhood from child
boyhood from boy
05-MATERIAL NOUNS
A material noun is the name of a matter or substance of which things are made.
Ex: This pen is made of plastic.
This necklace is made of gold.
This spoon is made of silver.
06-COUNTABLE NOUNS
The nouns can be counte as one, two, three are called countable nouns.
Ex: one pen
one chair
two pens
three tables
Countable nouns can be singular or plural. They are used with- a/an - and numbers like one, two, three.
07-UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
The nouns that cannot be counted directly are called uncountable nouns. They have only one form. They do not have a plural form. They can not be used with- a/an-or with numbers.
Ex- milk - We can not say "one milk"
water- We can not say "two water"

tea
flour

08-VERBAL NOUNS(GERUND)
When we use a verb as a noun it is called " a verbal noun" A verbal noun is a word ending in "ing" which is partly a verb and partly a noun.
Ex: He is reading a book. (Here the word "reading" is a verb)
Reading is his hobby (Here the word "reading" is a verbal noun)
He is walking along the road (verb)
Walking is a good exercise (verbal noun)
